- Where do the names come from?
- First names come from INSEE's register of names given to babies born in France since 1945, and surnames from INSEE's list of surnames of people born 1941–2000. Names are picked in proportion to how often they occur, so common names turn up far more often than rare ones.
- Can I get rarer names?
- Switch Names to “Any”. Every name in the list then has the same chance, which gives far more variety.
- Are these real people?
- No. Each first and last name is drawn independently, so any match with a real person is a coincidence.
